“And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” — Esther 4:14

SOUNDING
Esther is living in the palace of the Persian king, far removed from the ordinary life she once knew. At the same time, a decree has been issued that will lead to the destruction of her people. Mordecai sends word to her, urging her to act, but Esther hesitates. Approaching the king without being summoned could cost her life.

Mordecai responds with clarity and urgency. He reminds her that her position is not accidental. Her story, her placement in the palace, and the timing of this crisis have come together in a way that carries purpose. He challenges her to see beyond comfort and fear and to recognize that she may have been placed exactly where she is for this moment.

This is not about status or privilege. It is about responsibility. Esther has influence, and that influence now requires courage. She must decide whether she will remain silent or step forward and risk everything for something greater than herself.

That same principle applies beyond Esther’s story. Life is not a random sequence of events. The places you find yourself, the relationships you carry, and the opportunities in front of you are not without meaning. There are moments that require attention, conviction, and action. They are often uncomfortable and rarely convenient, but they are significant.

Esther’s decision becomes a turning point not only for her life but for many others. Her willingness to step into that moment reveals how purpose often unfolds through courage.
