“…the LORD has led me in the way…” — Genesis 24:27
SOUNDING
Abraham’s servant has just watched an impossible chain of events unfold. He prayed for clarity. Rebekah appeared. The exact signs he asked for were met. The right family connection was revealed. The timing was precise. Only then does he stop and interpret what happened. He doesn’t just say, “That worked out.” He names it: The LORD has led me in the way.
That matters. The servant could have credited his own planning, his experience, or coincidence. Instead, he reads the moment through the lens of God’s faithfulness. He understands that guidance isn’t only something you ask for beforehand. It is something you recognize afterward. Discernment is not just about making decisions. It is about learning to see God’s hand woven through ordinary steps and unlikely details.
This is a different kind of faith. Not the faith that asks, but the faith that interprets. The faith that looks back and says, “That wasn’t luck. That wasn’t just timing. God was leading me even when I didn’t fully realize it.” This kind of awareness builds trust for the next unknown. When you learn to name God’s faithfulness in hindsight, you grow steadier in the next stretch of waiting and risk.
BEARING
Spiritual maturity grows when you learn to recognize God’s hand in your story, not just ask for it in advance.
PRAYER
Father God, help me see where You have already been leading me. Train my eyes to recognize Your faithfulness in my own story.
DROP IN
