“This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: I have set my bow in the cloud…” — Genesis 9:12–13
SOUNDING
God could’ve picked any sign for His covenant, something heavy, intimidating, carved in stone. Instead, He chose a rainbow. Not because it’s soft, but because it’s visible in the exact place you’d least expect beauty: the edge of a storm. It’s God putting a marker in the sky that says, “I’m still here, and I keep My word.”
That promise wasn’t just for Noah. It was for every generation that would ever live through loss, disruption, and fear. God is building a long memory into His people. Storms come, but they don’t get to rewrite who God is. The weather shifts. God doesn’t.
And here’s the thing: storms mess with perspective. When you’re soaked and tired, it’s easy to assume God went quiet or stepped back. The rainbow is God’s way of saying, “Don’t let the storm do the thinking for you.” Learn to look for the signs of His faithfulness, sometimes big, sometimes small, but steady all the same.
BEARING
God’s promises stand firm even when life feels storm-heavy.
