“…At that time people began to call upon the name of the Lord.” — Genesis 4:26

SOUNDING

Genesis 4 is a heavy chapter, filled with jealousy, violence, grief, and fear. Humanity feels like it’s slipping fast. Then, buried in the middle of the wreckage, Scripture drops a quiet turning point: people began to call on the name of the Lord. It’s the first collective moment of worship in the entire Bible. Amid pain, people turn toward God instead of away from Him.

That’s still how revival works. It rarely starts with strength or stability. It starts when people hit the end of themselves and reach for the only steady thing left. Worship isn’t polished or pretty here. It’s raw honesty, a heart trying to find footing when the ground is cracked and swallowing people left and right.

Some of your deepest worship will come from places you wish you could skip… the losses, the disappointments, the moments that feel too heavy to carry. But those cracked places are where dependence grows, and dependence is where revival begins.

Turning to God in broken moments is where healing begins.
